In this investigation, the influences of two kinds of agricultural wastes (wheat and barely straws) mixed with Aspen particles were studied for use as insulation boards. Barely and wheat straws were chosen because of their availability. The manufacturing parameters were: a specific gravity of 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 gr/cm3, and residual agriculture contents (0/1 00, 10/90, 20/80 and 30/70 weight of residual agriculture/ wood particle) of 0, 10, 20 and 30wt%. A commercial urea-fonnaldehyde adhesive was used as composite binder. Sound absorption coefficients were measured at five frequencies (250, 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 hertz). The results showed when frequencies increased, sound absorption increased until it reaches to 2000 hertz but in 4000 hertz, sound absorption decreased. Between manufacturing parameters, kind of straws didn't have significant influence on noise reduction coefficient. The best density for absorb waves under 1000 in hertz was 0.4 gr/cm3 with 30% of straws but for waves with frequency higher than 1000 in hertz the best density was 0.2 gr/cm3 with 30% of straws.

The objective of this research was to characterize the physical and mechanical properties of Aspen OSB made with different percentage of resin as well as in different orientation of strand. Mechanical and physical properties such as bending strength. interlaminated shear strength, water absorption and thickness swell were measured on the resulting orientation strand board. Among sample boards with high percentage of resin amount showed superior mechanical and physical performance. Results also showed, when strand were oriented in boards) physical and mechanical properties were improved.

For the determined of Anatomical, Chemical and Physical characteristics of SAXAUL wood (Haloxylon persicum) from Haresabad-e-Sabzevar research station located in Khorasan-e- Razavi province 4 trees from this specie were selected and cut. Samples transferred to the Chemical laboratory in Alborz-e-Karaj research center for studies. Anova-1 in mstat-c statistical software was used for statistical analysis. Anatomical characteristics measured Fiber length, Fiber diameter, lemun and cell wall thickness 336.22, 13.61, 3.68 and 4.99 micron, respectively. Paper making coefficients were also measured. Mix up coefficient; Flexibility coefficient and Rankle coefficient were 24.72, %27.05 and %2.71, respectively. Chemical characteristics measured cellulose, lignin, alcol-acetone soluble extractives, NaoH 1% soluble extractives, hot water soluble extractives and ash 46.50%, 29.54%, 7.37%, 16.25%, 6.92% and 1.27%, respectively. Physical characteristics measured of density, dry density and critical density 1024.25, 1003.83 and 913 gr. per cubic centimeter.

The purpose of this study was to investigation the utilization of cotton stalk and Eucalyptus wood (E. Camaldulensis) in particleboard production. Experimental boards were produced with using of 0, 25, 50 and 75% cotton stalk particles with Eucalyptus wood particles, press time at 3, 4 and 5 minutes. 36 boards were produced and physical & mechanical properties of their tested and analyzed. The results indicated that the modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) of boards with increasing of cotton stalk particles were modified significantly, and MOR and MOE of boards produced with 75% cotton stalk and 25% of Eucalyptus wood particles were maximum. The results indicated that the internal bonds (IB) of boards with increasing press time were improved and the IB of boards produced at 5 minutes of press time was maximum, in order to the lowest of thickness swelling (T.S) of boards observed in same conditions. However thickness swelling of boards produced with 50 and 75% cotton stalk were higher than other treatments, significantly. The results of this study showed that in conditions that apply of species with high density such as Eucalyptus is unavoidable in particleboard production. Between 50 to 75 percent of wood materials that utilized in particleboard production, can be obtained from cotton stalk and with apply of their in particleboards can be produced particleboards in standard levels.

Global concerns for preservation of forests and elimination of pollution from pulping and papermaking processes has led us to explore alternate fibrous resources other than wood and new environmentally begin pulping and bleaching processes for papermaking without sacrificing quality. Various alternate fibrous resources such as agricultural residues are already in use in many countries and considerable research have been undertaken to produce pulps by conventional and non-conventional processes. Wheat straw has high quantity among agricultural residues in Iran. Kraft, Soda and Ethanol-alkali pulping were carried out after sampling and preparing of wheat straw. Retention of carbohydrates is improved compared to the alkaline pulping processes, resulting in about 8 to 15 % higher yield at the same level of residual lignin. There was lower energy consumption for refining Ethanol-alkali pulps. There were no statistical differences among the physical properties. The strengths of Ethanol-alkali pulps consist of tear index, burst index and breaking length were lower than alkaline pulps, but all of the strength properties were higher than kraft and liner paper except tear index that addition of some long fiber can solve the problem.

In this research utilization of Poplar Insulation particleboard at two different level of density (0.35, 40, 45 and 50gr/cm3) and press time (2, 3 and 4 min) were considered. Based on the DIN standard physical and mechanical properties including MOR, MOE, IB and thickness swelling (after 2 and 24 immersion in water) were tested. Based on the factorial experimental design at completely random test was analysis. The effect of density from 0.35 to 0.50gr/cm3, MOR, MOE and IB were increased and thickness swelling after two and 24 hours immersion in water were decreased .Moreover the effect of Press time from 2 to 4 min. MOR and MOE increased and at 3 min. IB was increased.
